modus operandi
for orchestra (2017) | Premiere: North Hollywood High School Symphony Orchestra; Adam Karelin, conductor
modus operandi was premiered in the spring of 2017 in Los Angeles by the North Hollywood High School Symphony Orchestra as part of a two-year composition fellowship. It was recorded in the summer of 2017 by the Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artists Orchestra. The piece builds as an increasingly dense texture of ostinatos is infected by a melody that takes over each section of the orchestra, bringing it to a unison line in octaves and halting the relentless percussion.
