Perpetuum

for two violins and violoncello (2017) | Recording: New Fromm Players of the Tanglewood Music Center

Perpetuum was recorded in the summer of 2017 at Tanglewood, by New Fromm Players from the Tanglewood Music Center.

The piece is an acoustic analogue to the electronic technique of granular synthesis. The micro-aleatoricism of this technique is applied in relinquishing control of individual pitches while guiding the players through a series of harmonic, textural, timbral, and temporal shifts.
